Amsterdam Mime

Regardless of the language, we understand the street performer who communicates with pantomime and light humor.  This gentleman has worked the Dam Racht in Amsterdam -- one kilometer from Central Station -- for 10 years.  He sits motionless... frozen in place... until a tourist deposits $1 FGL (1 dutch guilder = $2 US) into his guitar case.  This payment animates him for the one minute his music plays.  When he  finishes, he holds his pose, returning to his stoic penny-arcade  posture.  From this affectation, here he gives me a wink to acknowledge our 7 A.M. half-hour conversation earlier that morning.  It is at this time each day that he cleans his sidewalk preparing for "work."
